The Department of Chinese Language and Literature at NCNU offers a distinctively innovative and critical education while making substantial headway in teaching, research and contribution to the discipline.

We have three major college and graduate programs: bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate. Our curriculum focuses on Chinese culture, literature, language and philosophy.

Our courses not only examine how Chinese cultural legacies shape our views, but also explore how literary traditions can be interpreted anew so that the past is not just the past.

Striving to create a rigorous and open academic atmosphere, we encourage students to travel the untrodden paths and discover their own fields of interests.

Through reflection and innovation, students and faculty unearth the power of literature to transform the way we see the world.
